“I am the light of the world.” — John 8:12
« Je suis la lumière du monde. » — Jean 8, 12
A cross is cut through a concrete wall, after Tadao Ando’s Church of the Light. The sun crosses a whole day in six minutes: its beam is traced through the dust of the room, and the cross it throws slides and stretches across the floor. A cello, a wordless choir and a soprano are synthesised live and follow the light; the brighter the beam, the fuller the choir. Light a candle on the floor and a voice joins it until the flame burns down.
A day of sunlight in six minutes, through a cross cut in concrete. Cello, choir and soprano are synthesised live and follow the beam. Each candle you light adds a voice until it burns down.
